Tips on How to Raise Smart Kids

Friday, November 4th, 2011

Research show that aside from the genetics, the environment plays a vital role in developing the intelligence of our children. We can make the environment that kids grow in more conducive for learning. First, we must show them that they are loved. Children who are cuddled and played become smarter kids than those babies who weren’t cuddled or played with. So shower your kids with hugs and kisses. Talking to your kids often will also help them develop their language skills. Read books to them. They may not know how to read yet but they will learn a lot from listening to you read. They’ll also appreciate the value of learning how to read. Let them play and indulge their imagination. Imagination lead to creativity and creativity is a way to solve difficult problems. You can also encourage your kids to become art lovers by letting them work on coloring pages.

Practicing at Home

Tuesday, September 13th, 2011

One of the things I like doing in school aside from learning and acquiring new knowledge is the chance to show my talents and abilities through extra-curricular activities by the school. By the next week the school will be conducting the annual University weeks. There will be different activities for the student s to enjoy. There will be various competitions for the student s to show their talents and skills. I joined the dance sports and debate. We are currently practicing in my HUD homes for rent for our presentation. My parents are really proud to me as they watched us in our rehearsals in the apartment. I know from this endeavor I would be able to show my talents and skills that God had given me. It maybe just a week-long celebration but these experiences will be my treasure as I go along my journey. As a student, we have to deal with different facet of life and one of these is the non-academic activities.

Painting Galleries: the Artist Behind the Artwork

Wednesday, August 24th, 2011

They say it is difficult to become a famous artist but when you come to visit Painting galleries, you’ll discover the number of great talents this world has ever produced. Some may be highly-skilled in oil paintings, others in acrylic, and some in silk paintings. All of them though express their artistic freedom through a canvas and a brush. In the onset of technology where art can now be crafted through computers, these cannot equal the emotions that are captured when done by the human hands. Truly the product of the soul within is priceless. Even collectors of paintings will consider a piece of artwork as a treasure. Probably, it’s because it can never be duplicated by another artist. There may be a replica of an artwork but one can still distinguish the difference from the original one. We should actually learn to appreciate the artists behind these artworks. The artist may be hidden from us but their works will introduce the personality of these people.

The Lladro Brothers started a small porcelain figurine business in 1953 in Almacerra, Spain that expanded by the end of the decade. There was massive growth for Lladro business in the 1960s because it entered the international market. The Americans have discovered the brothers’ sculptures when they went to Valencia to explore for new products to import to the U.S. The word “Spain” is now incorporated with the Lladro Logo as it is now in the exporting business. In 1965, Lladro infiltrated the Canadian Market. By 1969 the Lladro Brothers traveled for the first time to the U.S. to push their products.

The brothers saw a need to expand the business and they decided to train people for their staff. They opened a Professional Training School to impart to those inclined to the art the techniques of creating LLadro Figurines.

In 1967, construction of the City of Porcelain started with the factory, office buildings, and facilities for leisure and sports of their employees. The complex was opened on October 13, 1969. The company was also the first to employ disabled workers as a civic and social concern.
