Big Green Egg Safety

Thursday, January 5th, 2012

Grilling on the Big Green Egg is an enjoyable experience that can produce some of the most delicious food you have ever eaten. It is important to remember, however, that grilling is an inherently dangerous activity. Keeping safety as the number one priority is the best way to prevent injury while grilling.

The Big Green Egg is very safe to use, when used correctly. There is one common mistake most people make, and that is forgetting to “burp” the Big Green Egg. Grilling is done with the lid shut, and the oxygen flow is controlled by the draft doors. If you are grilling at high temperatures and open the lid of the grill too quickly, the rush of oxygen will cause a large flare up and potentially burn your arm. This is a dangerous situation.

The correct way to “burp” the grill is to slowly open the lid only about an inch. The slower rush of air will not cause any dangerous flare ups. Wait a few seconds in this position, and then proceed to slowly open the lid fully. With this simple tip you can save yourself from a potentially dangerous situation and safely enjoy your grill for many years.

I Found the Best Place for Catering Supplies

Friday, July 22nd, 2011

We are a full service catering facility and I needed to be able to get all of the catering supplies we needed now or will ever need in one place. I really don’t like having to shop around. I like to use one supplier that has all that I want at a great price. I also want it now. I do not like to hear about how something can be ordered and will come in later. That means that the place is ordering from somewhere else and waiting for it to be shipped to them. That’s why I go for the supplier who orders everything and keeps a good stock of whatever is in their catalog. Sometimes we have events coming up that need a particular piece of equipment that is hard to find. I need to be able to get it now so that I can train my staff on how to use it at the upcoming event. I’m glad I found a catering supply place that has everything I need and want.

Thursday, June 9th, 2011

Are you searching for the most technologically advanced coffee maker today? If so, then you should take a look at some of the models of the Tassimo brewer which are widely available for sale on the market. A brewer will cost about $140 as this will depend on the specific model as well as the different features that a particular unit has. All units are integrated with a modern system of bar code technology as this feature will allow the device to distinguish between different types of drinks. Your gourmet coffee selections will therefore be prepared in such a way that a coffee drink needs to be prepared while tea drinks will also have its own way of preparation. In fact, a specialty drink like a cappuccino also has its own procedure in brewing that the milk disc will be brewed with a little amount of water and aerated before being transferred on your cup for that wonderful frothy effect on top. Tassimo T Discs are easy to use and prepare as it will only take about a minute to enjoy a delicious cup of any type of beverage. Unlike other types and brands of coffee maker which will require 5 to 10 minutes of warm up time, the Tassimo can be immediately used as soon as you plug it in an electrical outlet. Because of its flow through water technology, the amount of water needed for the brewing is automatically heated up as it passes through the hot coil that is embedded inside the coffee machine. This feature is not only time-saver in nature but it can save on electric bills as well. As a matter of fact, the unit even reverts back to standby mode right after each beverage preparation thereby saving on energy while allowing you to have fewer worries in operating and maintaining the unit.

Since Tassimo T Discs only cost about $1.25 per piece, you can enjoy a cup of your favorite beverage at any time of the day without worrying about spending too much on your coffee and tea needs. Love the Ricecakes I Made

Sunday, April 3rd, 2011

Vita Mix coupons made me great discounts.

I love rice cakes. We used to make them when I was still in Manila. Ever since we moved here, we hardly ever since it is so complicated to make and I can’t find any rice flour here in the stores.

I found the Vitamix blender online and I purchased it. I am very happy because there is even a recipe guide included, helping me expand my horizons when it comes to many possible cuisines that I can prepare. Vitamix helped me make my own rice flour. I just have to buy the grains and the Vitamix will process them for me—creating the perfect flour for sticky rice cakes.

This blender even helps me grind coconut for that creamy coconut milk I can use for desserts and Asian cuisines. Because of it, I can also make the best Asian salad dressing and those yummy frozen mango shakes that are my favourite.

Potassium Rich Foods and Protein Synthesis

Saturday, March 26th, 2011

Protein synthesis is a process through which various body muscles are constructed. The growth of healthy muscles is highly encouraged by increased intake of potassium rich foods. Potassium in the body leads to increased sugar metabolism which means more energy is available for use by muscles whenever we eat more potassium rich foods. Potassium will also be found more concentrated inside the cells of all body muscles where it controls their functions which facilitate protein synthesis.

Eating more potassium rich foods will increase the amount of potassium in the muscles cells. Potassium concentration in the cells ensures they have adequate amounts of water needed for their functions. It does so by balancing the concentrations of sodium found outside the cells. Balancing of sodium is very important because it means the cells of the muscles will not loose water to become dehydrated. Instead amino acids will be used in the formation of muscle tissue as the building blocks while carbohydrate metabolism will provide energy.

Cooking with Zojirushi BB-CEC20 Bread Maker

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

I recently decided to buy Zojirushi BB-CEC20? as my daughter likes to eat fresh bread in the morning, and I do not really have much time to bake it even in the evening and more so the following morning. I did a research online as I am looking for a good bread maker to use. A lot of people did suggest different brands, but I had to go with the Zojirushi as I was able to read a lot of positive reviews about the product. I also must say that it is easy to use and not difficult to operate, unlike some bread makers that I have tried using before. The bread that it produces is also good, and my daughter loves it. I would definitely suggest a Zojirushi to other moms out there who are interested in buying a bread maker, but are not sure which one to get.

Super Fine Crushed Ice

Friday, February 18th, 2011

Vitamix 5200 is so great. I make tons of country soups like Mung bean soup, lentils soup, pea and carrot soup, pumpkin-corn soup, and silken tofu soup. My entire family loves my masterpieces as they are not only delicious—-they are absolutely healthy too.

With the blender, I also make hundreds of fruit shakes. I tried lemon-melon blast, mango-pineapple summer shake, tutti-fruity coolers, and strawberry parfait with lemon zest.

For the kids, I make all sorts of snow cones. They are extra special because I made the syrups my self. They all enjoy the tasty treats I create for them.

For my pantry, I made hot sauce, chilli pastes, ginger-garlic dip, wasabi, mustard, and low-calorie mayonnaise. I also made some pancake mix and salad dressings as well as pasta sauces and tomato sauce. I even saved some dollars on my purchase by using a Vita Mix coupon I saw online. Try it.

Alaskan Crab Legs are a popular dish which are loved by adults and children alike. For a fun and tasty meal, why not host an Alaskan Crab Legs dinner party for your family and friends.
Alaskan Crab Legs are so easy to cook, since they come prepared and only need to be heated through. When buying Alaskan Crab Legs allow around 1 pound per person dining. Alaskan Crab Legs are usually measured by how many legs it would take to make ten pounds. So Alaskan Crab Legs labelled 10-12 would take 10-12 Alaskan Crab Legs to make ten pounds in weight.
Alaskan Crab Legs should be heated through for around 8 minutes in a large pan of boiling water. Do not be tempted to leave them on the heat for longer as prolonged cooking can turn the Alaskan Crab Legs tough and unappetising.

A Look At The Two Types Of Indoor Grills

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

When you begin looking at the purchase of a grill like the Breville indoor grill, you’ll have two basic types to look at. One is the open type of grill that is somewhat similar to an outdoor bbq grill. It’s open design allows you to cook foods just as you would on an outdoor model. You have to flip them over to cook the other side, etc. Foods come out tasting very close to what you would expect outdoors as well. The downside is that it takes a bit longer to cook than the other type of indoor grill, the folding model.

Also called a contact grill, ones that fold down will cook foods on both sides at the same time. The advantage here is much quicker grilling times. You also do not have to flip over the foods. With this style of grill you will really have to keep an eye on them while cooking. Because both sides are being cooked, you can easily burn the food if you are not careful.
