I am starting up a new small company and am looking for a web designer who specialises in cheap websites for small business. I am not requiring much from them; just a few nicely placed pictures, some info about my shoe shop and where they can access it with a map and directions.

I do not think I am going to launch anything to do with selling online because I do not think my business is ready for that but I will certainly ask the web designer how that would work. I started my shoe shop many years ago and business is only really picking up now – I started off just selling second hand vintage shoes but I have now branched out and started importing lots of different styles. My husband thought it would never work but I am the one gloating now because my company is bringing in more than he ever did – and once we start up the website I am sure it will double. I was really excited when our submission for a 1-800 number was approved by the office. We had never had an 800 number before, but with it we could be a little more professional with it when we gave it out to customers. We learned that with our 800 number, we would be able to have an extension attached to it for each employees desk, so anyone who called in could dial that extension and get to whoever they were trying to go to without having to deal with a phone receptionist. We had to wait three weeks before the 800 number became official, but we started using it when we gave our customers our contact information as well as on our website and business cards. This was a great step forward for our company, and everyone who calls in now really likes that we changed from a regular phone number to a new 800 number.

My parents introduced me to the world of internet marketing when I was still just a kid. I believe that the main reason I’m doing a lot better now was that they let me fail on my own. They showed me how to get started, but they didn’t hold my hand. I did not have many requirements for my next job. It only had to be something that I could do in rural Iowa at home. I had heard the telecommuting included the best jobs from home for the 21st century and I just wanted to be able to bring our little town up to date. At first I was having no luck at all in finding anything and then I decided to approach it the same way I would a regular. I identified my strengths and my likes. Then I narrowed my search to just include jobs that included those. By narrowing my search I was able to focus on what was important.

As a recent college graduate I was anxious to enter the job market and start paying back my student loans. Then my mom fell and broke her hip and I had to come to the sudden realization that I was going to be spending the next few months out of the job market and in her home taking care of her. Home nursing was not what I considered one of the best jobs from home. I needed to find something else that would give me work experience, a reasonable income and allow me to work from the confines of my mother’s home. I’m hoping that free thing will help me out.
